1) What does Claudius plan to do with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and Hamlet?
to send them to England.
2) What is Polonius going to do while Hamlet speaks with his mother?
Spy
3) List three important things about Claudius’ soliloquy.
a) He feels guilty about killing his brother ( he actually has a heart)
b) He asks for repent from god
c) He realizes he killed his brother for only three things
4) Why is it odd that Hamlet sees the king praying?
5) Why doesn’t Hamlet take this opportunity for revenge?

Scene IV
1) Describe Polonius’ advice to Gertrude.
Tell Hamlet lies to keep him occupied
2) What is the significance of the following quote: “How now, a rat? Dead! For a ducat, dead!
It's what Hamlet yells before slaying Polonius through a curtain.
3) What is odd about the following quote: A bloody dead; almost as bad, good mother, as kill a king and marry with his brother.
He says a death is almost as bad as a death of a king shortly followed by a wedding to the kings brother.
4) Why might Gertrude say, “What have I done, that thou dar’st wag thy tongue in noise so rude against me.”
Because Hamlet might be overreacting about this whole situation.
5) What descriptions does Hamlet use to compare his father and his uncle?
his father was described as young and lively, his uncle is described as old and decrepit.
King Hamlet
Claudius
6) What point does Hamlet make by comparing the men?
That Gertrude made a poor decision.
7) What is disturbing about the following: Nay, but to live in the rank sweat of an enseamed bed; stewed in corruption; honeying, and making love over the nasty sty.”
That Hamlet is getting into his mother's personal sex life.
8) What stops Hamlet’s ranting and raving at Gertrude? What does this figure tell Hamlet?
His father's ghost. It tells Hamlet to speak with his mother (kindly).
9) By the end of the act, Hamlet has made many statements about humanity, in general. Explain a few of his points. Do his opinions reflect his madness.
Hamlet speaks about love between old people. To be exact about his mother and Claudius. He believes that love, in general, is about sex and says that they are past that part of their lives. This just makes me believe that Hamlet doesn't actually believe in love. I don't think that Hamlet is crazy, I believe he is correct but frustrated with his mother's poor decisions.
10) Explain the differences between the ghost in Act I with the ghost in Act III. Why might these differences reflect Hamlet’s insanity?
The ghost in act I was seen by other people yet in this act Hamlet's mother cannot see the ghost that Hamlet sees. Also this ghost stays for a much shorter time and is now in search of resolution. In act 1 the ghost, kindly, requests vengeance.
